ITINERARY: ANTANANARIVO-ANDASIBE MANTADIA-RANOMAFANA-ISALO-ZOMBITSE-IFATY-MAHAJANGA-ANKARAFANTSIKA

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival, meet and greet at Ivato airport and transfer to the hotel located in Antananarivo capital city.
Accommodation on half board at TAMBOHO HOTEL (3*) or CARLTON HOTEL (5*) (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 2: Drive to Andasibe (Perinet)
We leave Antananarivo early in the morning and drive to Andasibe eastern rainforest. We’ll stop on the way to scan birds.
Afternoon night visit of the Nature Reserve to view some endemic birds and diurnal and nocturnal lemurs.

Day 3: Mantadia national park
We drive about one hour to Mantadia National Park, which consists of pristine rainforest and inhabits several species of birds. We'll have a full day exploration, in search of several endemic birds such as the 4 species of Ground Rollers, and Warblers...
The nearby pond inhabits the rare Meller's Duck and Madagascar Little Grebe. Several species of lemurs can be seen here such as Indri,Black and White Ruffed Lemur, Diademed Sifaka, Grey Bamboo Lemur…

Day 4: Andasibe National Park
We have a full day exploration of the Andasibe Special Reserve to look for birds such as Rails, Vangas, Couas, and Owls…

Day 5: Drive back to Antananarivo
Tracking back to Antananarivo, visit of Lake Alarobia heronry to have a close up look of varieties of herons and teals.

Day 6: Drive to Ranomafana
Depart early in the morning for our long journey to Ranomafana. We’ll scan birds on the way.

Day 8: Ranomafana National Park

Day 9: Drive to Isalo
Full day drive to Isalo, We have a stop on route at ANJA forest to view Ring-Tailed Lemurs, and have lunch. We'll scan birds on the way.

Day 10:Drive to Ifaty –via Zombitse National Park
Early morning departure to Ifaty with a stop at Zombitse National Park,a remnant dry deciduous forest of the southern region, which is the only forest where the indigenous Appert’s Tetraka can be seen.Several birds inhabits this forest such as Giant Coua, Coquerel's Coua, Cuckoo Roller ...

Day 12: Drive back to Toliara- Sail to Nosy Ve islet- Anakao fishermen village
Depart in the morning to Anakao and on board on a motor boat, then visit of Nosy Ve Marine Reserve, to observe the indigenous Red Tailed Tropic bird,Terns,Herons and waders...
Then, we’ll sail back to Anakao fishermen village to view the native Littoral Rock Thrush which inhabits Anakao spiny vegetation.

Day 13: Sail back to Toliara- Fly to Antananarivo
We’ll sail back early in the morning to Toliara and will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Antananarivo.

Day 14: Fly to Mahajanga
After breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Mahajanga. If times allows, after having lunch, we‘ll drive to the nearby wetland to look for Madagascar Jacana and other water birds.

Day 15: Boat trip to Betsiboka Estuary- drive to Ankarafantsika
After an early morning breakfast, we’ll board on a motor boat to Betsiboka Estuary in search of the rare Bernier’s Teal, Madagascar White Ibis,Herons, Egrets, Terns and several waders...
After lunch we’ll drive to Ankarafantsika National Park ,and upon arrival we take a barge on Lake Ravelobe to look for the endangered Madagascar Fish Eagle,Humblot’s heron...

Day 16: Ankarafantsika National Park
Full day visit of the park in search of the native Schlegel’s Asity, Vandam’sVanga, White Breasted Mesite...

Day 17: Drive to Antananarivo
After breakfast, we’ll track back to Antananarivo and scan birds on the way.
