Lemurs are forest dwellers, and they are distributed in different vegetation types according to their species.The 70 species of lemurs can be seen in 50 National parks and Nature Reserves.
This 12 Day Lemur Watching allows you to have the best lemur viewing inhabiting different vegetation types of east and southern regions, ranging from the largest living lemur, the INDRI to the world’s tiniest primate species, the Mouse Lemur weighing about 30 grams.

01 domestic flight

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival, meet and greet at Ivato airport and transfer to the hotel located in Antananarivo capital city.

Day 2: Drive to Perinet (Andasibe)
Drive to Perinet Special Reserve to view Indri, Diademed Sifaka, Grey Bamboo Lemur, Red Fronted Brown Lemur…
Night walk along the road to look for nocturnal lemurs such as Goodman’s Mouse Lemur, Greater Dwarf Lemur...
Some frogs such as Boophis viridis and Parson's Chameleon, Nose Horned Chameleon, Madagascar Green Gecko, Madagascar Tree Boa can be seen.

Day 4: Drive back to Antananarivo
Tracking back to Antananarivo, and have a stop at Pereyras reptile farm to see various colorful chameleons, Stump Tailed chameleon
(Brookesia), Leaf-Tailed Gecko, tiny tree frogs, snakes, fruit bats, tenrecs …

Day 5: Drive to Ranomafana
Full day drive to Ranomafana National Park via Ambositra woodcarving center. We’ll stop at Ambositra for lunch and visit some wood carving curios.
Dinner and overnight at THERMAL HOTEL (3*) or GRENAT HOTEL(2*)
Day 6: Ranomafana National Park
Full day exploration of Ranomafana rainforest in search of the endangered Golden Bamboo Lemur, Greater Bamboo Lemur and Ranomafana Bamboo, Milne Edwards’s Sifaka and the small carnivore Ring-tailed Mongoose.
Night walk along the road to have a closer look at the Brown Mouse Lemur.

Day 7: Drive to Isalo
Full day drive to Isalo, via Ambalavao town renowned for its handmade Antemoro paper fabric. We have a stop on route at ANJA forest to view Ring-Tailed Lemurs, and have lunch.

Full day exploration of the eroded Jurassic sandstone massif of the Isalo which is home of Benson’s Rock Thrush.
Morning visit of the Canyon des Maki which inhabit Verreaux’s Sifaka and Ring-Tailed Lemur…
Afternoon hike to the Piscine Naturelle a small oasis with a crystal clear water pool.

Day 9: Drive to Ifaty –via Zombitse National Park
Morning departure to Ifaty fishermen village, with a stop at Zombitse National Park a remnant of dry deciduous forest renowned for the only habitat of the rare bird Appert’s Tetraka.
Some Lemur Verreaux’s Sifaka and the nocturnal Red Tailed Sportive Lemur and Hubbard’s Sportive Lemur can be seen.

Morning walk in Ifaty spiny forest characterized by Didiera plant family, Euphorbias and baobab trees which is home the 2 nocturnal lemurs, the White Footed Sportive Lemur, and the newly
discovered Black Shoulder Sportive Lemur, and the famous bird Long-Tailed Ground Roller.
Ifaty reef is an ideal site for snorkeling and diving.Afternoon at leisure.

Day 11: Drive back to Toliara- Fly back to Antananarivo
We’ll drive back to Toliara and will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Antananarivo. We’ll have a farewell dinner at VILLA VANILLE restaurant

Day 12: Departure
You will be transferred to the airport for your rturn flight.
